Koiné

Koinè is a musical group from Porto that develops a body of work centered on composition and performance, exploring the friction between the different languages of its members.

 

The Koinè project is characterized, both in content and methods, by the integration of various languages and by the shared creative process, with the goal of contributing to the expansion of the common ground in musical and cultural communication.

Equipped with instruments such as vibraphone, drums, percussion, double bass, flute, vocals, classical guitar, and tenor guitar, the group navigates between contemporary classical music, jazz, and different genres from Portuguese, Brazilian, and Italian song traditions.
